Each page of this book counts three different objects and then asks how many of one of the objects there are. There are flowers with bugs, trucks with letters, trees with birds and eggs, and books with pages and pictures. All of the pictures are very large and very brightly colored for small children to see and point to.

Spaghetti and Meatballs for All! A Mathematical Story by Marilyn Burns
Mr. and Mrs. Comfort decided to have a family reunion. They made a list of 32 people they wished to invite, and then chose to make spaghetti and meatballs to feed everyone. The day of the reunion arrived and Mrs. Comfort arranged eight rented tables and 31 rented chairs, along with a folding chair, so that everyone would have a seat. As people arrived, they moved tables together; Mrs. Comfort was the only one who realized the new arrangements. Eventually, the tables made it back to where Mrs. Comfort had them, and everyone had a seat and food to eat!
